As their young family grew, the homeowners found the home’s original layout increasingly impractical—particularly with only one bathroom to serve the household. They also needed updated amenities and improvements to the home’s heating system to ensure comfort and efficiency year-round. Pillar Homes responded by reconfiguring and expanding the layout to create additional bedrooms and bathrooms, improving flow and functionality. Updated systems and finishes brought the home up to today’s standards while creating a comfortable, long-term solution tailored to their evolving lifestyle.
HONORING HISTORY
A defining feature of this renovation is the seamless transition between the original 1905 structure and the newly constructed addition. Custom hardwood flooring was thoughtfully selected and installed to mirror the character and pattern of the original floors, preserving the home’s historic essence while delivering modern durability. Original windows were carefully repurposed as architectural design elements, adding depth and authenticity throughout. Exceptional attention was given to storage and spatial planning, ensuring every square foot serves a purpose.
